Happy New YEAR!!!
![]()
New Years is very special to DeWayne and I as it marks our beginning. Just a few New Years eve’s ago we went on our first date to Dingus Magees and rang in the New Year at my mothers home in Oliver. Edie Grace’s New Years tradition is with her Mema Edith (her namesake great grandmother and my grandmother). She always spends the night with her and then they bring in the new year with lots of fun projects on new years day. This year it was making a Gingerbread house.
We all attended a New Years service at our church where we all rang in the new year together. This years service was a "shredding" service. During the service Pastor Scott asked all of us to write down the things in 2008 that we do not want to carry forward into 2009. DeWayne was worried that there might not be enough paper for me – but fortunately there was. This was a very powerful service in which you tangibly wrote down things you want to mentally discard and then physically shredded them.
We ate our greens and black eye peas at Mema Cathy and Ganky Ricks on New Years day. So since we ate our greens and peas and have all of those things SHREDDED – I know 2009 will be better than EVER!
Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by to learn a little about me, my studio, my family, my clients, my advocacy, my community and my passions. Yes I know many of you are addicted and I promise to continue to make the entries even more touching and exciting. Hope to see all of you in the studio SOON!
