Extreme Home Makeover – Savannah

The show aired tonight on WJCL ABC 22 in Savannah. It was wonderfully produced and told the Simpson’s story and the story of how incredible Savannah and the Coastal Empire is – very well. I was so relieved when they showed the princess party at the very end. It was one of my favorite moments of the week.

I had so much fun photographing the project for the J.T. Turner Company. What a wonderful company to work with on this or any project. Getting to work with Paula and her Son’s was a special treat. Getting to know them personally and seeing the incredible commitment they made to this project was so amazing. I hope you enjoyed the show! Look for great things to continue from this project.

Welcome Great Dane to Statesboro

Today is a wonderful day for the Boro! Great Dane held their groundbreaking for their new 450,000 square foot plant. The plant will have the capacity to produce more than 5,000 trailers annually and employ more than 400. We are thrilled to have such a wonderful new industry here. For years, we have photographed for Great Dane and many of their key leaders personally. They have always been wonderful to work with! It was great to see so many critical community leaders taking part in this event – including Congressman John Barrow, Senator Jack Hill, Mayor Brannen and Chairman Nevil.

We will continue to look for great things from Great Dane in the Boro!

Welcome Dr. Christopher Leggett to Statesboro

For years if you had any significant heart problems you had to go to Savannah or Augusta for treatment. That has all changed now. Bob Bigley the Administrator at EGRMC has recruited Dr. Christopher Leggett as Statesboro’s first interventional cardiologist. He has recently relocated to Statesboro from Atlanta.

DeWayne and I have known Chris and his wife Denise for over 15 years. They are dear friends and will be a wonderful addition to our community.

Chris is a world renown physician who was schooled at Princeton, John Hopkins, Case Western, University of Cincinnati and Emory. His wife Denise who is a partner in a major law firm in Atlanta.

Please join us tomorrow (Thursday April 8th) at 5:30 PM for a ribbon cutting and open house at his new office located in the Medical Office Building attached to East Georgia Medical Center.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet Chris and Denise and join us in letting them know how much we appreciate them choosing our hospital and community to practice.

Statesboro City Council portrait

In continuing a tradition that has spanned over three mayors and countless changes in Statesboro’s city council, I have completed the portrait of our new Mayor and Council. The portrait was created in Triangle Park in downtown Statesboro and welcomes visitors to City Hall. This official portrait will be used to market our city and welcome visitors and citizens alike.

It is always an honor to help promote Statesboro in assuring at least photographically we are putting our best foot forward.

Edie Grace went with me to take the pictures of the portrait hanging. It was neat to show her the marker on City Hall with my name on it. The restoration of the building is one of many downtown revitalization projects DeWayne and I have participated in.

Statesboro is a such a wonderful city. We are so blessed to call it home!

CEFGA Expo 2010 and Skills USA – Atlanta

Yes, it is that time of year again…

When I don a hard hat and safety glasses and head north…well, north of here…{Atlanta}

This year, DeWayne was able to travel with me, and thank goodness he did! The event had expanded to 155,000 square feet indoors plus events outdoors too! Roller skates or a segway would have been a BIG help too!

For 15 of my “growing up” years, my Dad taught technical education at Statesboro High School so this event is near and dear to my heart. {of course the two years he and I BOTH were at the high school and he got to see my report cards first were a little tough!}

I just wanted to share a few of the images from the 2010 event. Scott, and all of the team that makes this event such a success deserve a BIG pat on the back. In the toughest economy since its inception, they still pulled off a world-class event and had the largest attendance yet! Way to go, you guys!

IHS Pharmacy & Gifts in Metter – Santa’s best kept secret…

Krista and Dean Stone owners of IHS Pharmacy and Gifts in Metter have an unbelievable selection of Christmas Decor, toys, children’s clothes, frames, candles, collectibles …..you name it – they have it. The prices are amazing and the products are unique. You can even get lunch and a vanilla coke with crushed ice (my favorite) while you are there! Edie Grace and I attended their Christmas Open house and put together a video to show you how incredible this store is.

Go check them out and visit Guido Garden’s Nights of Lights which is just a few blocks away.

It is always fun when you have clients who want something unique and allow you the creative freedom to push the envelope. These clients are partners in a company that focuses on insurance for specialized clients with a larger portfolio of assets. They wanted headshots for their companies website and print ads that positioned them as uniquely different as their company is. Of course it always helps when your models are cooperative and the prop is one of the most incredible homes in the Ford Plantation. Nevertheless, if I may borrow a descriptive word from my eight year old – these images ROCK. Although our corporate work is very limited and selective – projects like this are always fun. If you own or run a business that is a rising star….or has been a star for a long time but your marketing, website and boardroom images need to be updated – then give me a call and we will give you the artistic pop you need.
