There is no better way to share your families’ Legacy than through our Legacy Portraits.  For over two decades, we have created Legacy Portraits for wonderful families’ throughout the south.  Nothing completes a home more than a Legacy Portrait.  This portrait was designed for the Clifton Family for their cabin on their farm.  The cabin is a gathering place for the family and a place of wonderful memories – past, present and will be in the future too.

This session brought back so many memories for me.  My Grandparents’ house was right down the road when I was growing up.  “If only” we had created a portrait like this of our family while my Granddaddy was still living….  

While we are on location creating the Legacy Portrait – it is also a wonderful time to capture individual family groupings.  This is certainly a moment in this families’ history they will cherish for generations to come.

We had so much fun playing with this beautiful little girl.  With eyes like hers, you think her Daddy will ever be able to tell her no?  I know I wouldn’t be able to!  Her dress was hand-made by her grandmother and first worn by her aunt.  I am always in awe of sewing talent!  I took sewing in high school.  Thank goodness I am handy with a camera because we wouldn’t fare very well if we had to depend on me and my skills with a sewing machine!

a few notes:  due to the exclusive nature of these events, payment must be made in full and in advance to reserve an appointment.  (please don’t ask us to make exceptions) there will be an absolutely non-refundable fee of $50 per session for the Statesboro appointments and $100 per session for the Savannah sessions.  please understand that reindeer food and Santa lodging has to be equally shared by all participants to make this opportunity available. 

With the Tooth Fairy lurking in the shadows, we were able to capture these images just in the nick of time.  What an amazing morning!  The Mom’s Aunt hosted us at her home on a Savannah Square…I literally could’ve created portraits there ALL day without using a spot twice. 

How fitting…to create a piece that will become a part of this little girl’s history surrounded by a Historic home, on a Historic square, in a Historic city!

  There is nothing more incredible than an heirloom portrait.  This portrait is normally taken between three and five years of age.  This is the LAST opportunity to create a portrait that captures the essence of childhood.  Very soon they will begin to loose their teeth and they will begin to go through some awkward changes.  Your baby is growing up!

The portraits displayed are of brothers.  We shot both of these on the same day.  They are close enough in age – that mom wanted them created from one session.  She selected to have them hand painted and framed in hand crafted, custom made frames to compliment her beautiful home.  The portraits hang in the foyer of her home and have become the centerpiece of the entrance.  I have photographed these handsome guys since their birth.  It has been so much fun watching them and all of my family of clients grow.

  Thanks to beautiful weather we have been able to extend our beach sessions this year.  The cooler weather allows a bug(almost)free environment and some of the most incredible sunsets I have seen in years.  This beautiful family are definitely Lori Grice super fans.  This year’s portrait goals were to create two fine are pieces for their home.  They wanted a five year oil of their daughter and a watercolor of the family.  The family portrait will become the centerpiece of their home.  This portrait is really breathtaking.  It exceeded all of our expectations and theirs and I think it will yours also.  The beauty, love and joy this family shares radiates in this watercolor.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day at the beach – in additional to the breathtaking fine art portrait.

There is nothing better than sleeping in your own bed.  I know, I am getting old and yes traveling does have some perks… like daily maid service and room service.  We have completed our five day travel marathon that took us to visit clients from Orlando to Atlanta and a few points in between.  On Monday, photographer Mercer Harris and I conducted a workshop for PPA (Professional Photographers of America) in Lilburn.  The workshop was hosted by Photobarn one of my favorite vendors.  Much of the money you spend with me goes directly to Photobarn.  This is where I get many of my goodies from.  Photobarn sponsors the Georgia Professional Photographers photographer of the year award – which I received last year.  We had a great group of photographers from across Georgia.  It is always good to share ideas with other talented people.

On the final leg of the trip we met with one of our Atlanta clients to deliver their two fine art portraits – which will become centerpieces of their newly remodeled home.  I have been anxious to share these with you – because they are SO beautiful.  Now that they have seen them – I can share them with you.  These portraits were created in Forsyth Park in Savannah.  The daughter’s dress was made by hand by mom.  The first portrait is being featured on our fine art marketing pieces and will be the centerpiece for our new "simply Savannah" portrait line. 

You hear me say over and over that very few portraits are more important than your five year portrait.  This is truly the heirloom portrait.  The last portrait of your son or daughter before they loose those little girl or little boy characteristics.  Once they loose their teeth, it is amazing how fast they change.  The portrait I am featuring today – many of you have seen in my front window the last week or so.  This portrait was shot on location at his home.  I think it is beautiful!  I can imagine him showing this portrait to his grandchildren one day and sharing all the wonderful stories about his childhood and the “home place” where he grew up.  I have had the pleasure of photographing this handsome young man since he was still in his mom’s belly.  Fortunately, they have lots of great places for many more portraits as their family continues to grow!  Of course, while we were at his home – I simply could not pas up this opportunity to add his twin siblings in for a fun/artsy image.

???????? ????? ???????? Yeah, I know…IT’S HOT!  But I wanted to remind you of some of the good parts of living in the coastal empire!  Forsyth Park, Magnolias and the BEACH!  Speaking of Beach…isn’t time for you to schedule your families’ beach portrait session???

          I think so!  But of course I would, right?  We are so blessed to have a beautiful beach so close by.  We are also blessed to have a WORLD FAMOUS park with one of the most iconic fountains in the world.
