Photographing weddings are absolutely one of my most favorite things to do.  There is nothing more challenging artistically or creatively rewarding than documenting the greatest love story of all – your wedding.  After the birth of my daughter Edie Grace and then taking on my battle with cancer – I decided to take a break from weddings.  My plan was to reenter the wedding market after Edie Grace was in college.  However, thanks to many of you VERY persuasive brides I have decided to accept a few – VERY FEW – commissions for weddings. 

By limiting the number of wedding commissions, I can focus on every detail of your wedding and ensure that your wedding album is designed to document your day as artistically, incredibly and magically as you imagined it would be.

To give you a feel of the difference in working with a Master Photographer on your wedding -  here is a slide show of one of my favorite wedding albums.  This wedding was at The Mansion on Forsyth in Savannah, Georgia.

My staff and I, look forward to talking with you about your wedding.  If we are not a match, we will make recommendations of reputable, creative,  properly licensed and insured photographers for your wedding.

Edie Grace just placed HUNDRED’s of the most incredible Save the Date cards EVER in the mail.  Watch your mailbox – many of you will be getting them as early as tomorrow.  I can’t wait to show all of you these amazing cards – but we will have to wait a few days – so we don’t spoil the surprise for the guests.

I choose to photograph only a VERY few weddings per year, so my staff and I can give each one of them the incredible attention to each detail that I demand and my clients expect.

From the engagement session for Valarie and Jason we created art pieces as gifts for them and their parents, images for the newspaper announcements, thank you notes, a custom designed album which serves as their sign-in book at all of their events and now Save the Date Cards with custom magnets, plus images for their wedding website.  The best part is we are only getting started.  Next will be the bridal portraits created on location at one of the couples favorite destination locations.

August 25, 2012 seems to be one of the most popular wedding dates of the year.  In addition to Valarie, four incredibly special brides-to-be have reached out to me for the same date.  Even though, I have already committed to Valarie and Jason – I have helped each of them select equally amazing Master Photographers for their wonderful Day.

I was honored to photograph Savanna and Brian’s wedding this weekend at the Mansion on Forsyth in Savannah.   The wedding was beautiful and this couple and their families were such a joy to work with.  I have been photographing Savanna and her family since she was a little girl. 

After an phenomenal honeymoon in Antigua – they will make Savannah their home.  Savanna in Savannah…..and Brian too.

Tripp’s proposal to Marissa is legendary at the Mansion on Forsyth hotel in Savannah.  They are planning a private summer wedding at the Mansion and have commissioned me to photograph their wedding.  They are one of only three incredible couples that I have accepted wedding commissions for.  That should tell you how special they are to me!

Since it all started at the Mansion – what better place to photograph them for their engagement session than where it all began.  Enjoy the video of our favorites.

 Often my friends kid me about what Edie Grace’s wedding will be like.  Considering her first three birthdays got so out of control that DeWayne had to pull the plug.  He really did not think we could justify having Ringling Brothers put up a circus tent for Edie Grace’s fourth birthday.  Saturday night we attended and helped photograph the wedding of Ashlyn Winfrey and Ryan Reese in Washington, Georgia.  Ashlyn’s step father and mother are Mercer and India Harris.  Mercer and India own Mercer Harris Photography in Washington.  As a team, they have become one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the Southeastern United States.  If you have called me for a wedding photographer recommendation – they are the ones I probably referred you too.  I tell people that if Edie Grace were getting married today – they would be the Photographers we would hire.  The only problem with being the top photography team in the Wedding industry is that you see LOTS of INCREDIBLE weddings and get LOTS of phenomenal ideas.  Well, if you were lucky enough to attend the wedding of the century in Washington this weekend – you had the opportunity to see a wedding that could best be described as the "best of".    It would take hours for me to describe every incredible WOWING detail of this wedding.  I think the entire city of Washington attended – so don’t take my word for it.  Just call 411, ask for Washington and dial the first number you get.  I am certain they were either in attendance or knew someone who attended.  Ask them what they have heard about it and be prepared to spend an hour on the phone for the cliff notes.

The photographers, who were hand picked by the Harris’ to photograph the wedding, followed the "best of" theme.  I was honored to be included as part of the team of the most sought after wedding and portrait photographers in the south.  It is not often that a wedding in Washington gets the attention of the paparazzi – but if you were a guest – you saw lots of cameras at work.  Several of the south’s leading Wedding publications have already reached out for some of the incredible photographs.  While I will not steal that thunder here – DeWayne and I did take a few images with my blog camera to give you a feel of the event.  I am not sure if Cinderella herself could have dreamed of, or put together, a more incredible wedding.

  Tonight, we attended their beautiful wedding at the Cathedral of St. Johns the Baptist  in Savannah.  I have photographed Brandi and her family for years.  For you faithful blog readers – you will remember this couple’s engagement session from the blog.  It is so fun to watch our clients grow up in front of the lens of my camera.  Brandi and Justin’s engagement session was so much fun.  It was great to see the images tonight at the reception.  The sepia image of them in Forsyth they used for the center image in their sign-on frame.  All of their family and friends wrote notes to the new couple.  What a great way to remember this amazing night for years to come.  We wish them all the happiness that they both deserve and then some!

I   do not shoot many weddings now.  Yes I know….many of you want me to give up my Wedding Photography sabbatical.  Every week…sometimes every day, one of you call me to try to persuade me to photograph your wedding.  With wedding options more challenging than ever, I understand your desperation.  I have published my top TEN tips for hiring a wedding photographer because of the HORROR stories I have heard from you about your wedding photographers.  A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to get a small taste of Wedding Photography again.  The cute couple, Nikki and Bradley – who you have seen on here and some candid’s from their wedding on previous blogs -  invited me to their wedding.  It was so hot their wedding photographer allowed me to help her with some of the posing.  It was fun to shoot a wedding again as a second photographer – without the stress of being the primary photographer.  The venue was so beautiful and the couple – well as you have already seen – could be models.  So let me know what you think?

We squeezed in this wonderful couple’s wedding in our event packed weekend.  The wedding was on Sweet Heart Circle on the GSU campus.  I photographed their engagement and her bridal – all on the circle.  They are a wonderful & sweet couple and we were honored that they included us on their special day.  Here are a few snap shots that I captured with my point and shoot.  Bradley’s father, Scott Moore, is our pastor at Believers Church and officiated the ceremony.  Pastor Scott, I am sorry that I did not get a better shot of you!  Nikki and Bradley are honeymooning in Hawaii this week and will be returning to Statesboro as our “neighbors” downtown.  They have rented a beautiful loft apartment as their first home.  We are excited to have them so close to us.  Even though I did not take any pictures at the reception I must tell you how wonderful it was also.  It was held at Meldrim Woods Plantation which is owned by the current State Bar president Gerald Edenfield.  We actually shot the cover of the State Bar magazine at the reception site.  Best of all, one of my favorite caterers catered the event – Uncle Shug.  Stacy and the gang at Uncle Shugs provided a real southern feast for the sit down dinner – before we all danced the night away.
