Last night, Valarie and Jason “officially” began their journey of marriage with their engagement party. They wanted something extra special to mark this milestone – so they commissioned me to go back with them to the spot where it all began. They met at a function hosted by friends at a really cool spot on the Savannah River. I had a fun afternoon with them. What a lovely couple! From the engagement session, we created a story book that they unveiled last night. This book served as their registry – allowing friends and family members to write notes to them throughout the book.

Valarie’s ring is a Tiffany and it is absolutely one of the most beautiful rings I have photographed. Valarie brought the box along – so we had so much fun with the ring and box. This is probably one of the most unique sessions for a Tiffany!

I am so excited about Valarie’s bridal and wedding. It is going to be an absolutely beautiful event! Congratulations Valarie and Jason and thank you for selecting me as your portrait artist to document this incredible year for you.

Takin’ a moment for Santa at Lori Grice’s

I am often asked about the Lori Grice “difference.” Many of you, who have never given me the opportunity to photograph you or your family tell me how my images look different. You love my “look” and know they are different – but you really don’t understand the complete difference.

Nearly two decades ago, I decided to take my difference to another level – as a reward for my clients. I have heard the horror stories about standing in line for hours to see Santa – only to have your child freak out and not get one usable image. DeWayne often shares his memories of standing in line outside (in the bitterly cold weather) of the local Sears store in Claxton to see Santa. His first picture of Santa – does not include Santa at all. In fact – the only lap he would sit in was his mothers.

This is how we began creating the perfect Santa experience at our studio. Every year this event sells out. We open it to existing clients – many of whom book a year in advance. I have tried to explain this experience – but have never done it justice. This year, Reagan Daly booked a session for her son and wrote an incredible account of her experience with Santa. Reagan is the editor of Moments Magazine a publication of the Statesboro Herald. With Reagan’s permission – we are sharing her article her for you. I would like to thank Reagan for spending time with us and giving us the opportunity to photograph her and her son.

DeWayne’s Bi-Lo 90 Second Shopping Spree adventure

Bi Lo grocery store in Statesboro has recently finished a complete and amazing remodel. To celebrate they have had specials throughout the store. In addition, they gave away gift certificates and two 90 second shopping sprees. Edie Grace registered DeWayne for the shopping spree and he WON! Last Saturday DeWayne and one other lucky shopper were allowed to get anything they could put in their grocery cart – in 90 seconds for FREE!

It was such a fun event! The store staff marked off two rows and let the fun begin. In 90 seconds he pulled in $363.10 worth of items.

We all had a blast with this and really appreciate the Statesboro Bi-Lo team for sponsoring this wonderful event.

Some of you reading this who are on DeWayne’s Christmas list should look closely at the items – you will be seeing some of them under the tree soon!
