Being known for portrait photography, I thought it would be fun to expose the “other” side of my work through this show. The best way to perfect your talent or skill is through juried print competitions. It was through this process that I discovered the additional challenge of stepping away from my comfort zone and creating images that I had total creative freedom. Two things along the journey really impacted my work tremendously. The first was the birth of my daughter and the second was the diagnosis of cancer only 14 months after her birth and the journey of survival. Often my clients describe the depth of my portraits and how they move them emotionally. Each piece that I create speaks to them in a deeply personal way. These portraits tell their story and preserve their legacy for generations to enjoy. This body of work is the catalyst for that emotion. It is how I chronicled the battle with and survival of cancer, the joy of birth and motherhood and challenges of being a woman entrepreneur. As you enjoy each piece, know that there is a part of me in each and every piece…
A part of my soul, my heart and my gratitude for being a vessel for the gift God has given me.
